What is the purpose of the little hand pump/primer-looking thingie on the side of the 2H engine?
I was playing around and unscrewed it then pulled it out to see what would happen, now I can't get it back to the stowed position.

Any help is appreciated.

Well, I found if the system is primed you got to open the bleeder push the level down, yes fuel will come out, lock the pump in place and close the bleeder.

That's a good sign. It means.. 1) It doesen't leak and 2) there's no air in the system. Just open the bleeder valve on the fuel filter and let a little fuel out while you push the plunger back down. The penace is that it will pour all over your forearm and you'll smell like diesel for a week. That'll remind you to leave well enough alone :)

It's ok to run with it up, but get it down, if it gets caught and breaks , it's a head ache..some are plastic and crunch easily...

Also when you open the bleeder any of the diesel that spills on hosess and such clean it off as it may eat the hoses.

with the engine running carefull of moving parts push in slowly and turn clockwise
