Wanted to thank Jim C. for all his knowledge and never ending free
advise he provides to all of us cruiser heads. Just wanted to let you know !

Yes Sir! Same here! He does some great work on carbs too.

Thanks Jim!

Free advice is always appreciated Jim, Thanks for the heads up on the idle control solenoid.

Thanks from me too Jim.
Great job on my carb.
Would the idle control solenoid cause the engine to idle rough from time to time. I usually notice it when I restart it after a 60+ mile or so drive.
Doesn't happen all the time though

Sounds like a simple heat soak problem. Try disabling the hot air door on the air cleaner (remove vac hose, plug w/ golf tee). Then the carb will see full time cold ram air. If problem is reduced/eliminated, then you're on the right track.

Thanks for the tip Jim!
You know I just noticed that the carb cooling fan wire(the one that attaches to the motor) has fallen off again. Could it also be a vapor lock problem from the fan not turning on and the carb getting too hot?
