Am finding we need to watch what we say on forum sites , a good debate is good , but theres a clash of opinions at times & some people take things personally , some times its better to find things for yourself & if your set on an idea , go & do it , make it happen & then share ur success story unless it failed lol maybe thats progress ?lol got to buy a new laptop to run autodesk inventor pro soon to run these ideas, eye is on a lenovo thinkpad w520, dont have any pc at moment , fun & games (-;

Have you looked at any of the hino 4cly engines to see if any parts can be interchangable. I mite be way off but maybe the NO4C-T (4.0ltr 4cly) SO5C-T (4.6ltr 4cly), JO5C (5.3ltr 4cly) could be used. Just cant recall ATM if any or all are common rail.
 
Toyfj45> i think ur onto something there , isuzu is the most popular japanese? diesel engine as far am aware , be sure to.be heaps of parts that would , saw on ebay high pressure injectipn pumps by isuzu real cheap , could always buy a low klm isuzy, hino ,etc with a hole in the block purelly for common rail parts & be sure to be a longer stroke crank 4cylinder diesel engine of forged steel thats close matchn , wonder if theres an online site that has listings/dimensions of diesel parts?

Its easy to balance a crank to rods, pistons , either drill some steel out or use mallory in counterwieghts & wieght match.rods/ pistons. Just have to machine a crank to fit if its bigger mains or counterwieghts hit . Alot people would say why bother , well if u modify ur 4x4., then why not modify ur engine (((-; & imagine how much knowledge u gain when u complete projects like this .

I was suggesting the hino as this is the commercial side of toyota. I was myself looking at swaping a SO5C-T but ended up canning the idea and went another way.
 
I didnt know hino was connectd to toyota , so are some parts interchangeable ?

That is the million dollar question.... i was never looking at blending a hino and toyota engine together rather just using a hino engine.
 
Chevy rods & pistons have been put in heaps other engines , even air cooled vw's . I had a quick look at hino engines & didnt see one under 5.7ltr . They have any 4cylnder turbo deisel engines around 4-5ltrs ?
