Where and how do I find openers for a 12' garage door? Home Despot had no info on how big of a door a their openers work on?

Anyone, dont want to bring in a contractor if I can.

well what type of door is it Einstien?

Wood, Metal, Foam filled panel...there's a lot missing from this equation...like, does the opener need to lift 100# or 400#...what is your track system currently?

Do you need addtional support to mount the opener on the door and at the ceiling?

I think D'animal has big doors...but he's probably in good enough shape to lift them....

Always here for you,

Do you have the spring on the wall over the door or 2 springs over the tracks? My doors have the spring on the wall so I was looking at the jack shaft type opener that just turns the spring shaft to open and close the door. The problem I have is my spring turns the wrong way for the openers to work.

They use a optional door lock because they won't lock the door like a trolley opener.

Metal non insulated, spring above the fixture...........

Is the track long enough for a 12' door, I so confused.............

Some pics, tried last night to post them, my computer was smarter than me I guess.

I guess what Im asking is, Is the track on the opener long enough to push/pull a 12' door.

Yeah, Im learning that they base my installation fee on the house I live in......................Im a silverspoon on a paperplate..

I looked for an extension but HD didnt have s***, I will try Sears, I have had great luck with Sears.

My garage doors are 10' high and 12' wide, insulated, steel both sides and operate fine with a residential Liftmaster opener. It seems to me that you only need the right length of belt and then you set how long the motor runs to open and close the taller door.

Local door company did my install so I can't really help with the the specifics - good luck.

If your cheap, why not the pull chain? Or the spring loaded roll up like me.;)

Nice shop BTW..

I dont mind the manual open and closing, its the fact that the last 12 inches loose all slack on the springs and the door drops 6-12 inches.....my Toyhauler clears the door by five inches.......Id rather have it fully open and held there than fix some expensive stuff on the door or hauler.

Thanks for the props, Im very grateful to people who cant pay their bills and get their s*** foreclosed and sold cheap.

Ok, hammer me if I'm wrong, spring adjustment? My door is starting to sag also, and have no idea how to pick up the slack.
I'm sure I will be posting up or calling someone when it gets worse.:meh:

I think my spring might be an issue but I by policy dont mess with those springs, lots of built up tension, kind of like a brake pod.
