It has been a while since I've heard from him and since we're going to be in his back yard again I tried calling. The phone number has been disconnected, so I found his e-mail and sent him off a letter. That day I received a reply and before I had time to read it he called me, from Norway. As some of you might remember, he was in a bad accident a year ago, got hit by a car travelling at 80km/h while he was walking. Luckily and amazingly he survived and was not paralized. He did break his neck in 3 places though, now he's still in Norway and going into a massive reconstruction surgery on his neck at the end of the month. He was happy to hear from me and sends greetings to us all, he'll be recovering over there but as soon as he is feeling better he'll be coming back to his ranch. He offered up his place for us to stay in and asked if we could check up on it, we're welcome to hang out as long as we want. So I figured on the way back from Bella Coola we can pop in and maybe crash for the night on his property.
