We've been reproducing the Koito S8899 lense for sometime now. It sells to Landcruiser and Stout owners.

We recently came into some NOS Everwing A303402 (amber) and A303401 (red) lenses.

These everwing lenses are almost identical to the Koito S8899, except the screw hole along the long side is a slightly out of alignment.

Can anybody advise which models the Everwing were used on?

Many thanks

Daihatsu has almost the same lens as the stout/TLC pu/Aussie 40

Late 60’s pu/truck lens... the front lens on the Taft was very similar as well

Always wanted to compare the two to see just how similar ... that one could very well be from daihatsu

I’ll see if I can find a pic

I had a thread some years ago with guy here on the forum about these lenses. I can't seem to find it as it was actually about the fj45lv tails and it digressed (perhaps by direct email). At that time I come to understand that there were two lense types used on the 45pu that were basically the same (and I assumed year of mfr was the difference). If I recall correctly there are four different lense types used on the 45pu which included the S8899 a red/clear version of that, a tri colour type and then another red/amber type. I'm hoping that this last type is my ever wing lenses as if it is we can do reproductions. I'm not so keen if I can't prove the use on Toyota landcruiser. Really appreciate any help from members.

45 and some 40’s had that type of light I bet you they are from the Aussie 40’s

I’ll have to look around and post up a pic of two

If they are... there were some brothers from down under looking for them ... you could sell some for sure if they are

See here from Andy’s thread

@andybudge do these lenses the PO posted look like yours :)

I can barely make out the # ... looks like it is the same

Thank you - this is the Everwing lense! What model do you have these fitted to (and which country)?

Matt do these separate into individual lenses or do they come out as one long single piece? Late model 55's here had similar but I thnk they come out in a single piece.

They seem close... could be from a different year

Have checked up on the Daihatsu lenses - these are different to the Daihatsu which are a five screw Koito lense

YES the 1/79 FJ55 has a 1 Piece Long / Tall 3 Color Lens ,

NO separate pieces...............

Like i mentioned , i am almost certain that a 1979 FJ55 shares a lens with ONLY a 1978 or 1980 ? , it has a Short Year span life cycle application

They were pre74’ model till 9/73

I had seen them Middle East and Australia (Aussie) ... toyota lists them also Asia

Early Aussie cruisers had an extra amber rear light added to comply with down under laws ... this was there own thing to comply in those areas

My old micro-fiche list them as Australia only.
