I swear I searched. And searched. Could not get the right grouping of words to return the result that I am sure exists. Mea Culpa.

Now the issue.

When I put the truck in reverse without the running lights on, the right side is fine but the left side dimly illuminates all three bulbs.

Please help me unscrew this issue. Grounding issue? If so most likely location/culprit?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: 1991 North American FJ80

I don't have access to the wiring diagram, I only have the EWD for a 1996, but I'd check the wiring behind the light inside the quarter panel, if one or more wires are chaffed and rubbing that might be easy to spot. You might also want to swap the bulbs from the good side into the bad side and vice versa. See if the issue remains or follows the bulbs to the other side, if it follows, change all the bulbs.

Also check the EWD, check the reverse lamp circuits and the circuits that go through the turn signal switch in the steering column. If you have to trace the wires through the body, then you know what wire colors to follow.
