Are tail light lenses, the red ones, still available? Cost? for a 77, same as the earlier ones. Thanks, Kief.

Used lenses, sure. NOS? Haven't seen any lately, but I haven't been looking either.
Evan got me a cool pair of the two-tone lenses, rumored to have come from Oz via SOR...Might wanna call Marv and bug him to get more...unless Bushboy can come up with some.

Thanks, I discovered some in my junk and didn't know if they were rare or really rare. I am getting a bunch of junk ready for ebay. Didn't know what to expect.

Mine are so sun damaged they are about to crumble. It seems like fj55 taillights would have a higher demand than fj45 ones due to shere numbers. I guess it depends on the the proprietor's favorite cruiser model on which gets reproduced.

Amen to that!:bounce:
We should get first pick. Name your price.
I am always looking for spares.

So how are tail lenses made? Create a mold and pour the plastic? Something to think about.

i'd love to have a set of the yllow/reds

I would just like a left y/r to go with the one i have

Sell the tail-lights here vs. eBay!!!

I miss the days when folks just sold stuff they didn't need to folks who did and were honest and straight up. I recently had a good trade here on mud with Cammy but also have had some things very poorly represented that I purchased via mud and decided just to eat it and keep the peace. I know what comes around goes around. Right now the dough would be handy and I don't feel right demanding some crazy price when some one might pay it on Ebay and it is all their own doing. It also provides a small portion of accountability. And I don't like the "BEST OFFER-HIGH BIDDER" deal. Most 'mudders seem like really straight up folks, some are that but are in a business situation where they make a living buying & selling and a few are a bit slippery. I have some other junk that will get posted on this forum when I get some time.

I never got amber/red early FJ55 lights. I'm still interested though. They'd need to be mint in order to make the mold.

Repro red/red 55 lights were already done. I can get em if someone is interested. But I don't stock them.

Cool - how much for the red/red?

How much more would it be to start making orange/red?

Thanks!

Uuuh yeah oops, i seem to recall saying i would look into it for you guys but things got a bit busy here trying to get my 55 going and i must've forgotten.
Anyway the landcruiser wreckers about an hour away will have at least a few but i'm sure he could get more, you'd think. i'm not sure of the condition of those that he has. I shall contact him soon and find out what he has.

i also know of a wreck 55 in someones paddock that has been sitting there for atleast a few years and i've been trying to think of a good excuse to buy it now that i have my own 55 :D as so far i haven't found a good excuse to get it. it may have some good lenses on it, but i can't remember what style they were.

lately i've been thinking i should fab up some stainless steel 55 series lense sheilds to protect our rare and valuable lenses. atleast for now to protect my lenses but if i get some interest from you guys and the price of frieght makes it feasable to send some across the world, then i'd be willing to do that.
i've attached a pic of a quick off the top of my head design, obviously wouldn't be blue but that's so you can see it ;)

cheers,
Dan.

Well, the 45 LPB lenses came in at $69 a pair delivered. These are smaller and there should be more of a demand so they should be less. Let me talk to my guy.
And just so everyone knows, my next Cruiser will be a PIG!!
