T-case - replace or fix (1 Viewer)

I have a small crack in the front housing of my transfer case. I am considering whether to just pick up another used t-case, or pulling apart the case and just replacing the front part of the housing. How hard is it to pull it apart and replace the front housing?

Yes-please take and post a picture. I have never heard of a split case with a case fracture. What is the story? Were you running without a skid plate or slam it on a rock? I recently rebuilt a split case and was very impressed with the robust overbuilt nature of the thing. I'm very curious what happened to yours.

Okay, I finally go around to pulling out my leaking t-case. It seems what I thought was crack was a casting line on the bottom of the case. Yes - I am a rookie when it come to working on my cruiser...
