Quick question, will the t-case linkage from a 1/76 FJ40 fit a early 60 tranny/t-case?
Will they swap over or are there some differences?
Thanks, Duane

Yes and no. If you swap all the 4speed parts on to the 3speed transfer case (transmission, TC top cover or hi/low shift arm and lever, 4wd shift fork) then it will work. Otherwise, no.

That was clear as mud.
Whats in the cruiser now is a H42 and 4speed tcase that is stock. The combo I picked up was
from a early 80's FJ60 and came with no linkage. I guess tomorrow I'll swap and see.

As Pin_Head says FJ60's have a COMPLETELY different transfer case. If everything is pre-'79 then you can convert things over and do some mix and match but otherwise no.

yotanut, I checked for my linkages, I've got 2 different setups. maybe someone can help figure this out

I've got 1 from an 82 FJ40 which is slightly different from the 81 FJ60 the rod thru the floor is bent different than the 40 series, and the 60 series is still in the rig.
Wondering if there are any differences beyond the vertical rod thru the floor.

Also did you want the top plate from the 40 series 4 speed?

Paul
