@landtank I see two of the pintle hook holes being used, what else does it bolt to?

It through bolts to the rear cross member. I've made a cardboard drill template that uses two pintle holes to align itself to the cross member.

There are two 1/8" holes in the cardboard used to pilot the holes.

Im ready to purchase!! It all seems very well thought out

Please add me to your list of potential buyers. I'm very interested and would be willing to wait until you have these available. I almost ordered a kaymar products from Australia today until I saw the shipping in importation cost which together were far more expensive than the rear tire carrier itself

I leave for Europe next Saturday for 2 weeks. I likely won't have any updates until I return. My carrier has been in the works for more than a year. Basically due to the fact that while I can design stuff, everything I personally make is crap. So getting all the manufacturing pieces together takes time.

I have a few of your items, and they’ve all been rock-solid! Can’t wait to see this when it’s all done!

Like you, I couldn't stomach the $1500+ tag on most bumpers that included a tire carrier. I found this:

Whoa! Looks very interesting. Any experience with this company and their products? No description on materials or specifications on their webpage.
Edit: I reached out to them, waiting to see if I can find other information

I got the info that they exist from a friend who said they are a company in Israel who is/was/or-somehow-affiliated-with defense contractors to up-armor vehicles.

He outfitted his Lexus with their stuff and is very happy.

That's all I know.

Thank you! I will pursue this and report back. Looks nice, may require some precision drilling.

damn that’s a bargain. Got rear ended (no damage) and a check cut for 900$. Wonder if this is what that check should go towards

How do you pronounce that name...ass-fur? Just curious...:hmm:

Got these, but no answers on how the latch works and if carrier restraint mechanism ( will it swing out and hit passenger side quarter panel). Reaching out to contacts in-country for reviews or knowledge

A couple design problems I see with the Assfir:

The latch assembly is installed so that it could accidentally open if the rear end gets dragged. That's why the handle has been cut off in the pic directly above.
The position of the latch limits the tire size to probably 33's. One of the main reasons for the swing-out is to find a place to locate your bigger than 33" tire since anything larger will not fit under the truck in the stock location.
The latch also appears to be the only item keeping the tire carrier from hitting the tailgate if involved in a rear accident or from not holding onto when closing. I'm not seeing a bump stop attached to the arm or a locking pin in the spindle area.
I would also be concerned about the tire shaking when going down rough roads unless the wings are built out of nothing less than 3/16".

This is the bumper ONLY. it does not include the tire carrier. Just got confirmation email. It is form the bumper wings.

I have one but no idea who made it. When I first purchased the vehicle I didn't know much about 80's and it appeared factory if you didnt know better. 2 brackets are welded to the vehicle and painted above and below the PS tail light and the gate catches in on the other side of the tail gate. I'll take a pic and post it. Ive wondered what this thing is for some time.
