I assume that it has been done but I am curious. Isit as easy as it sounds? Swap pedals/MC the trannies, driveshafts, shift linkages and clutch/torque converter parts???

Is the 62 tranny electronically controled????

And it is a fairly robust tranny right?

Tranny is not electonically controlled. Would have to move the crossmember rearward.

That is not a big deal at all to me.

But would you need to move the xmember rearward if it was in a 86 FJ60???

Yes. The A440F tranny is longer than an H42 + spacer combination. Don't know how much exactly but it's only a few inches.

Or just buy an FJ62 and swap in a 2F.

    I've done a 4 speed swap into a 62.

It should be as easy as it sounds. You will have to relocate the crossmember. I cannot think of much that would give you trouble.

You will need to fab up some sort of kick down linkage for the tranny. A cool and cheap mod would be the 3F NON USA head w/intake/ex manifolds and a 3F carb with factory kickdown on the 2F block.

Cooler mod would be a megasquirt TBI mounted on a turbo ;)

thanks for the info tho.. I never think about kickdown cables..
