How does the sport/normal system work, The indicator light does not come on, so I assume it is not operational , this is still stock, if not working should i replace or upgrade?

I don't really know how the stock system works but either way, it looks to me like you now have a great excuse to upgrade to something better than stock!

Ideally you would be able to press the button to sport mode and the light would come on. Your shocks would absorb more and give a more cushioned feel. Honestly if you were to upgrade just get yourself an old man emu kit. I don't think its worth the trouble to go and find special shocks to do this. It makes a small difference. Coil springs make for a pretty cushy ride. Enjoy.

What do OM Emu do?

DSo what is the deal with the upgrade system?
Are they only shocks or shock spring combo, adjustable?
Speaking of upgrades, My stereo kicked the can, (stock sony) I assume high end at the time? being a vx LTD and all..

The stock adjustable shocks have an electrically controlled valve within the shocks that change its dampening characteristics. In Sport mode, it is more stiff. Normal mode is softer.

Finding the proper adjustable shocks will be expensive as you will have to go through the dealer. Better bet is to go aftermarket and get some Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks - or similar. I have upgraded springs with a 3" lift, plus adjustable shocks. The shocks themselves have a 5-way knob that allows for some fine tuning. I set mine to the second softest for winter and the second hardest for summer (hardest in the rear when I'm towing). Easy enough to reach under and turn the knob. The Normal-Sport switch sits unused in my dash.

So my advice is to get aftermarket adjustable shocks if you want adjustability. Otherwise just get normal shocks.
