This may be a dumb question, but what is the difference between a body lift and a suspension lift? I am looking a buying a 87 60 that has both types of lift. Can I remove the body lift? I don't need that much lift.

In a Nutshell

- The Body lift increases the distance from your frame to your body (using a spacer). - you can remove the spacer, and you will be back to normal.

- The suspension lift increases the distance from your Axles to your Frame usually with taller leafsprings.

good coverage, and yes you can..

BL raise the body. Suspension lift raise the frame and the body. BL keep the height, suspension lifts lose height over time.

If you got body lift try to stay 1" to 2"... you run into problems going much more than that. I have a 1" body lift on mine and I've encountered zero problems. Install is a breeze too.

unless all your bolts are rusty and f'ed on the body mounts- just bought a michigan 60, and man- broke almost every bolt i've tried to pull from under that dang thing :(

I guess it depends on the truck, i only had one bolt that had seized to the liner of the bushing a little bit, overall it took me about 3 hours from the time i pulled into the shop to the time i pulled out.

You shoulda been there for my 65. EVERY bolt had to be broken off. Couldnt torch it, and didnt have an impact wrench. I finally won though. Broke 2 sockets.
