Surprisingly high road RPM - I’m going to get run off the road here in CA (1 Viewer)

I had a massive hole in my transmission tunnel for years when I first bought my 40. I was shocked when I finally patched it up how much more quiet the truck was.

Now, I said “more quiet” which is not to be confused with “quiet.” My 350 has a 17” rigid, clutchless fan. When I start approaching 3000rpm around 60-65mph - it sounds like the engine is going to throw a rod. You have to yell to have a conversation in the cab.

@RWBeringer4x4 thanks for the note and sharing your experience. I have a similar fan and had a similar huge gap in the tunnel. I am chomping at the bit to drive it tomorrow once the steering parts arrive with the interior more buttoned up.

I will not plan on having any major conversations at speed - grin.

Thanks again and hope you are well.
