Remember when I had that weird surge happen?

Well, after the tranny service, it still happens. But now I know the factors that make it happen:
- It has to be cold. Lately, lows have been in the 30s, highs in the 50s.
- Iit's when I don't let it warm up for 5 minutes or so, like I usually do.
- My engine seems to run kind of on the cold side anyway. This time of year, after 25 miles of speedy, hilly driving, the temp needle usually ends up at the first hash mark, max. More often than not, it's just above the bare minimum.
- It happens only once, within the first 1/4 mile of driving.
- It's more of a revv than a surge.
With this additional info, any new thoughts on what's causing this, and what I should do, if anything, about it? Is it the torque converter?
