Sure Power Battery Separator (Auto solution) (2 Viewers)

I was looking around on the Austrailian ARB site and checked out their dual battery setup, and I noticed that the selector/separator was an AMERICAN part. It gave a brief description, but basically just said that it automatically charged the main battery until it has sufficiently charged, then switched over to the second battery. I would personally like this better, but there's even more infomation/products on the Sure Power Industries website. Here are the battery isolators: http://www.surepower.com/separator.html I searched the archives and didn't see anyone mention this as an option. I'm assuming that since ARB is sourcing them for a kit they sell, they're suitable for offroad use.

Does anyone know where you can buy these?

I just thought I'd bring it up as an option for a dual battery set-up.

I was thinking about getting one of these too, but I wasn't sure if I needed the 200amp. I can't remember what the regular one was rated (100 or 150?). I think the part# is 1314 and 1314-200. Anyone know which of these we would need for an 80 series?

Playboater, there is also another company in OZ that make a simular setup called Pirahna, they make the same sort of thing, they come in 100, 150, and 180 amp. It protects your main cranking battery by charging that first then it charges secondary battery when first is full, it also comes with a battery moniter so you can allways check your levels, another option this one has is you can connect a solar panel to the isolater and it puts a slow feed into the batteries, you could stay in the bush for weeks. I am running the 180 amp one in mine, works a charm and these things are meant to be bullit proof.

Lots of good info on dual batteries here - sounds like you've been reading through it. Another option for an automatic setup is the Blue Sea 9112. Several people on the board are using it and I am planning to also - as soon as I collect all the parts I need.

I have the 1314-200 in my garage waiting to go in (whenever that happens). The 1314-200 is the 200 amp unit where as the 1314 is only the 100 amp unit. I would go with the 200 amp version (and in fact I am going with it )
