Steve that had the T100 on the tree run just called and he plans to show at 9am in his FJ40.

Yeah, let's say 9:00. I didn't get as much prep done tonight as I wanted and will have to wait for daylight.

As for where to go, this could be a tough one. From past experience we can expect to have much of the Jemez district gated at this point. Which leaves the Cuba district if we're stuck on the Jemez. If that's the case I expect we won't get much forward progress given the snow levels up there. Anyone with any bright ideas?

Do we want to try Paliza Canyon?

And we'll plan on 9:00 AM at the north portal.

Dan - if you want to ride along, why don't you come over around 8:00.

Will do Evan.

Sounds like a fun plan to me.

Camera batteries are being charged as I type!

I'll be there. Dan's bowling starts at 4:30 pm so I get to leave the kids home. 9 am at the North Portal. Good night and I'll see you in the am. Sarah

Hey Dan -

I assume you remember how to get to my house? Just in case, I will have the cell phone on after about 7:30 (two three eight - seven two two six).

See you around 8:00, and we will meet the rest of the group at the north portal at 9:00.

Evan

... and back home in time to watch most of the 4th quarter. Post up some pics when you get a chance.

:D

Football: meh.

Pics: OH YEAH!!!

Most of the trucks I got pictures of in this same spot. It's just so photogenic.

And just so daisy doesn't feel left out...

This was just before we got those 245 chains to fit. I'm kind of bummed, the pictures I took of the tires with those chains on them didn't turn out too well--black chains on a black tire makes for a lame picture. But you can see some shiny extra links!

Not very. The snow was pretty tough. On top it was hard packed (you could generally walk right on top of it), but once you broke through (and the trucks all did, of course) it was like sugar. Just about exactly the consistency of white cane sugar. Didn't pack AT ALL, so it was really, really tough to get traction in it. If you followed another truck, there would be no tire tracks behind them, just a general cut in the top crust of snow and a bunch of snowy granules beneath.

This is the sort of trail that tall/skinny tires might work better for (because they could maybe cut through the snow and get tot he ground--maybe, I'm just spitballin' here).

Red line was yesterday. Blue line was run about a month ago. I included where Rory's truck died for reference.
