Gladly.

I would suggest that we meet at the "North Portal" at 8:00. The North Portal is the gas station next to Wendy's at the intersection of HWY 528 and HWY 550. Ali, can you be there by 8?

If you're coming from points north, we will meet about 9:00 at the La Cueva store where Hwy 4 and 126 meet. We'll stick around there until 9:30 waiting for latecomers unless everyone who said they were coming is there and ready to go before that. It might be possible to leave a trailer there but there would still be several miles of paved and then dirt roads from that point before we get to the fun stuff off 126 in the western part of the forest.

If you've got a CB, bring it. Most of the club members have Ham radios but a few will probably have their CB too just in case. CB freq. is 40. I don't recall the 'normal' Ham freq. we use.

Bring your lunch, plus extra food, water, warm clothing/blankets just in case you get stuck out there longer than you planned for. And bring sleds or tubes to play with.

We'll be on cb Ch 40 'cause we're white trash and don't got no fancy radios. Besides, I don't think ham radios are kosher.

I'll bring you a portable Ham radio.

LOL!!! Bet not many in this club knows what you just said. Besides, it's not Friday so we're all safe.

Ok cool. Which forest road will we be taking off of 126? FR132? Just wanted to calc mileage few miles on pav is ok for the 4runner but not more than 10.

Also will there be other kids going? My boys were asking.

No worries Jake, lots of kids will be showing up, and we'll bring our dog too.

Another New Guy

I am also interested in Superbowl run and membership. Would it be OK to join you on Sunday? Are you heading up to FR376, 144? I'm local and can find a place for the trailer'd 4Runner. If going to 376, there is plenty of room to park a tow rig and trailer.

Thanks

I was thinking we take 126 up past Fenton lake and the fish hatchery and then just start checking out the side roads to see which ones look interesting. But 376 and 144 sound very familiar. I'm just looking for some snow and fun for the family. I really need to practice putting on my chains and I'd rather do that on a dirt road or in the snow than my concrete driveway. JemezToys: come on out with us.

Things are not looking good for me all of a sudden. My countertop install got moved to today which means that I will need to work on my kitchen this weekend since stalling out about 3 weeks ago after the cabinets went in. Danise has been very patient with the lack of a fully functional kitchen for a month and I owe it to her to get everything back together this weekend. I may be very productive tomorrow and get it all taken care of but I can't be sure at this point.

Wait... You changed your mind and are not going on a scheduled 4x4 run because *you have to work on your kitchen???* A thread about a run *that you started???* A sixth of the posts on your thread are yours and now you're not going????

Greg has been outdone.

I'm planning to be there - at the North Portal at 8:00. Also probably my buddy Victor in his Jeep. Some of you met him on the Christmas Tree Run. His rig is getting more capable all the time, and now sports a Warn 8274 on the front bumper, and a front locker.

I'd rather take harrassment from this group than deal with a pissed off wife. I don't have to live with any of you every day.

With that said, me moping around for 2 days and kids whining about not getting to go may be enough for her to ease up. Plus, I might get all the work done I need to get done today and then there's a decent chance I'll still be on the run tomorrow.
