Fellows, I am planning on purchasing lx 570. I currently own Lx470 which I bought used 14 years ago.
I like the look of 2013-2015, the redesign 2016 and onwards is too much in your face and the rear is really bland.
Now, is there a value in terms of capabilities, engine/transmission, etc for 2016+ that you recommend purchasing 2016+ over prior years. Another factor is almost 10k+ difference in price.

If similarly priced, which one will you pick 2013 with lower miles or 2015 with about 20-30k more miles.

It depends on how you intend to use. Obvious differences aside, 2016+ has an improved 8spd transmission and several interior features over previous design.

A pre-2016 will be slightly easier to modify in terms of front bumpers and roof racks. Other mods like wheels and tires, sliders, skid plates, rear bumper are basically the same choices across LX model years.

There are really only small changes from 13-15 and then mostly cosmetic from 15-20. There are a few additional safety features in the later years, but nothing worth an extra 10g. The later years have the joystick controller which some people hate, but I actually didn’t find that bad. It is one of those things that you should probably try before you buy.

Between a 13 and 15, I would choose whichever one has the best maintenance record. 30k miles is irrelevant if it has had regular service. If both have been well maintained, then go with the one that has the newest tires 😜

Doh! I forgot about the switch to the 8 speed tranny. That is a pretty significant change.

And bigger brakes for the 16+.

There's more detail changes and you might find this thread helpful
