Once you do a number of repairs on your cruiser, you prolly remember what to do. If you are like me though, the exact torque values might not be firmly in memory. So, I was thinking that a useful FAQ would be a list of common torque values.

When the list is done, I was thinking to post this as a pdf to facilite saving and printing. Thoughts?

This is NOT a how-to, it's only a reference table of how tight to turn the various nuts/bolts.

Head stud torque on 2H motor? Help please.

I have no clue - and no appropriate manuals to refer to. However the diesel forum has some folks on it who could help for sure!

Can you add the torque for the engine side cover & oil pan?

Ya, good idea! Can't find the value for the engine side cover though? Looked in the engine manual and Haynes too.

The FSM says 53-104 in/lbs for the oil pan bolts. I torqued mine to 85 in/lbs.

I couldn't find anything either for the side cover. I am guessing it is a little less than the oil pan bolts.

Ya, I was looking at different but similar bolts and was guessing similar. I'm going to do a few updates to the original list and repost. Thanks again for the sugggestions.

Have you reposted this somewhere? I assume the tranny drain/fill is the same as the diffs but I can't find it in the FSM.
I didn't find it either.

Are we sure about the Torque settings on the Waterpump to block values?

I'm looking at the FSM and it calls for 13Ft Lbs.

Can anyone verify this?

I just did mine a few weeks ago, and yes it's 27 ft-lb.

"Thermostat housing bolts - 156 in-lbs"

That seems correct, but it may be simpler to write 13ft-lbs. ;)

Yep, you're right....I was looking at a different FSM for a different Toyota Vehicle.

Anyone have the torque values for the five bolts that hold the intake manifold to the exhaust manifold? there are three bolts on top and two on the bottom.

Thanks!

I have the FSM's but can't find a torque value for the five bolts that bolts the intake to the exhaust manifold. There are three on top and two on the bottom. Anyone have them?

How about the EGR tube?

Thanks!

Ditto for me- J-tube torque value. It's hard to find some of this obscure info in the FSM.
