Truck is relatively new to me, so not sure what it is supposed to sound like.

I've noticed that this truck has very little bass. I can go to the Audio screen and adjust the bass all the way up, play a song with decent bass, and I won't hear much bass while sitting in the front seat.

If you stick your ear next to the subwoofer in the cargo area, it does make some noise. It's doing something, but it seems like only a fraction of what it should be. Hard to quantify though.

Maybe the speaker could be blown, but it doesn't make the rattling fart noise a "blown" speaker usually makes. So, before I dedicate myself to taking the rear panel apart, I'd like to confirm that this weak sub output is abnormal. How much bass should I really expect?

There is no separate sub amp, right? All the other speakers seem to work as they should.

Assuming the sub is bad, the question would be whether to replace it with an 8" 2ohm DVC shallow sub, or add a box in the cargo area.

My 2008 can have way **too much** base...and I turn it down. We have the same generation system...so it sounds to me like something is wrong on yours.

Make sure that "Automatic Sound Levelizer" and "Surround" is turned off in the sound settings. I found the sounds quality is much better like that.

Good tip, but yeah I've been trying that. Still no luck.

Funny thing is, I've found a couple of songs in my collection that I can get a little thump of bass, but most songs just have no bottom end.

I don't have any rap or hip-hop to test it with. :wtf:

Well... unfortunately, don't expect much. Not at all impressed with the sound quality in this truck, especially if you're using Bluetooth as your source.

I have a 2019 and was disapointed with the stereo at first. Turn the mid almost all the way down and the treble way down as well. It can sound really good, but the settings are not where one would traditionally think they should be. Its like the lower frequencies must have a certain setting on the volume knob to wake up. Get the base where you want it and then adjust the higher frequencies up to get it where it suits you. That worked for me anyway.

If using an iPhone and iTunes, you might want to give jetaudio a try. It's a free app that allows for considerable sound adjustment and various frequency enhancements via an equalizer. (Don't know if this app works on other phones or not). HTH

Well, shoot! I figured it out, thanks to the recent comment in this thread.

Turns out, I was listening via Bluetooth on my phone. The app on my phone has a built-in equalizer and it was jacked up.

Once I corrected the EQ settings, the bass magically appeared!

USB source still sounds kinda flat and the bass is kinda muddy, but it's a billion times better than it was.

Anyone running an iphone, I just found in the setting, then music, then EQ setting, change it to "Late NIght"..... WOW so much louder!!!!
