Well, went to fire up my fresh 2F and discovered that I must have the cam 180 off. I used my FSM to rebuild the engine and even going back and looking for a way I could have avoided this I don't see what I missed. How would I know #6 was TDC on the compression stroke without some other indicator other than watching the piston? Not too hard of a fix just a couple of steps backward and a new gasket or two. Dang!
