Ford stupid duty door locks (1 Viewer)

Looks like my electric door locks have started to fail oin the superduty (2000 diesel crew cab). From what I understand it is a fairly common thing..

Is it terminal? Or can I take them apart and clemn them out?

Suggestions for where to get replacements if I have to? The dealership is not exactly cost effective..

Can't remember what the 2000 switches look like but I think they're similar to later models and current - at the front of the armrest? A couple of years ago one of mine started acting up on the driver's side. Was surprised by how easily the whole switch console yanked off. Unplugged and replugged everything and no problems after. Longshot but easy so give it a try.

ahhh, the switch is not the problem. the doorlocks don't really work well with the remote either..
