So, if a non/winch ARB was installed on an 80 when you got it -

Has anyone either cut/or mounted a winch...on one?

Short answer- Yes.

Longer answer- I don't remember who, but IIRC there are at least two individuals on this board with winches mounted in ARB's that started life as a non-winch bumper.

If you were closer I'd swap you my winch one for your non winch bar

YES! We've made an 80 bastard out of you!

If no swap out available-it aint hard to fab. If you're around I'll show ya the 100s Sahara bar winch mount. I am going to copy that set up-tucked up under the 80 ARB

Damn! I am looking to swap with someone in So Cal too!

Ive read somewhere that the non-winch version will need to be reinforced heavily where the winch will mount to accomodate a winch. Something about different metal strengths between a winch and non-winch version.

I'll be in NJ December 9th-11th and I can pick up the ARB bar from Koffer and deliver to OH (where I live), if you'd like Jeff...

PM me if you are interested.

Best.

No winch ARB to offer but if you're desperate to get rid of it Texas is closer than NJ! :D

Hey, TX, if you come back up to Wichita anytime soon I'd sell you my non-wincher.

Food for thought.

A 1997 - yes locked - with a non-winch ARB and an OME lift...

The lady finally came through with all records of maintenanceand everything - looks good!

Final price to come!

So, yes...you all are screwed - a NEWBIE - has arrived!

Only if you go the route of trying to mount where the winch bar would have-though the steel is not stronger/weaker, just different design resulting in...bla, bla, bla. If one has an ounce of intuitive thinking in ther head-its nodda problemo.
