I use the ICOM IC-V80 vhf . Got it off amazon , don't remember how much I paid for it . The battery lasted all weekend without having to be charged . That's my two cents worth .

Looks like a nice radio. Thanks for the tip. A couple of guys were talking up the cheap models as being ideal for trail runs/small groups. I don't have any interest in going full blown into the ham scene so wondering if I can get by with one of those options.

The range voice quality and battery life on the cheap ones is less. The range and voice can be helped with a small external magnetic antenna. I am with Rocky I run ICOM Remember even the small hand held require a license

I've got the cheap baofeng, I've had it over a year and it's done fine, I turn it off at night and the battery lasts for days. It's a good entry level radio for the money. And look at hunter if something happens to it your not out much.

What am I supposed to do if something happens to it?

Hahahaha, I call dibs on the 40 :moon:

Just that we would miss him but ehh. Sorry hunter I didn't think to refer to the radio you lost.

So do we need to start a new thread for my STLCA will?

No we' ll just divide it amoung those present. Just keep the signed title in glove box.

One thing we won't have to worry about dividing up is his left over beer and liquor because there never is any.

Yep no alcohol or pants without holes.

Looks hardcore, Roger! X2 on what Daniel said, seeing The performance of the CB vs the 2 meter in the woods was the deciding factor for me, I at least want the hand held. And x2 on the snorkel as well, lol
