This bastard storm is probably going to be huge....and you should see the rat race here. Even after IVAN we can't get gas, plywood, water, generators, etc....nothing. Amazing to me. People are in an all out frenzy [I haven't even tried to get to the stores yet....have most of what I need] but you go to Walmart or Lowes, Sam's, The HD, etc....and they are JOCKEYING for positions in line to buy s***.

Goes to show that no matter how much folks go through, American society lives in the minute and by the day. I think it's absolutely pathetic that there is such a massive failure of responsibility over something as simple as doing your best to prepare for a storm.

There were several traffic fatalities here in the last two days, 3 wrecks in front of my gym. These people are f***ing idiots.

Anyway. Just wanted to convey how pathetic is still is here.

And the odd part? People in Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, etc....that are going about living, getting ready for work....some of them will be dead from Tornadoes and Flooding......

I'm going to go grab a beer and shoot some pool.

    Totally agree with you Tommy.

People who live in an area where something like this -- hurricane, tornado, etc. happen on a fairly regular basis should have their supplies ready.

    People are stupid.

Punch a hole in everything so the water runs back out and find a nice place to take a nap.

    Good luck. . . ..

You would think some of those people who bought plywood and stuff last year, could maybe reuse it, or put it in the garage for "next time". Wait reuse stuff, thats kind of odd. But then again. each time I need gas for my lawn mower I buy a new 5 gallon can, I throw the old one out thinking," I wont need to get gas again" "Another Hurricane wont hit"

    Hang in there guys.

"you guys are going to get your f***ing asses kicked"

That about sums it up. But we're as ready as we can be.
Funny, every gas station in town except Murphy's at Walmart is OUT OF GAS. Gotta drive an hour and a half out of town to get gas.

Now, that's not the fault of anyone but useless company planning. I picked up 20 sheets of plywood this a.m. Cost me $300 (screws incl.) and I was in and out in 10 minutes. Last year, no way.

Anyway. Going to measure and cut wood for the windows on the new house....

Check this out, I'm in St. Augustine (east coast)... the traffic north bound on I-95 is bumper to bumber 10 miles an hour, through the entire county.

One of my good friends got the boot out of their hotel room in Key West this morning. I'm sure they are loving the interstate right now. Her Altima crapped out before they left so they are in their Echo. 40mpg will be a handy thing to have in their favor I believe!

    You guys hang in there!!
