Keeping my eyes peeled in my travels between charlottesville and Harrisonburg.

The cops came to my house and asked if I'd heard anything. They are looking! And so am I!

Staunton cops know who the Staunton cruiser king pin is. Brian, We should call you shmukster junior

Pretty much. I've got the Staunton Cruiser scene locked down. I did stash The White Trash away. I don't want anyone stealing that peach!

Many thanks to everyone in the TLCA who responded to my "STOLEN" email last night!

Long-story-short, our four-wheeled friend is home safe! After being physically sick for the past 36 hours, we decided to drive around to the local car lots to look for a new car. The particular circumstances all pointed toward never seeing the Land Cruiser again but on our way home my daughter caught a glimpse out of the corner of her eye and screamed "OMG, there's Landy!!" Within a few minutes - city, county, and state police cars were there. interviews, fingerprints and DNA sampling ensued for the next couple of hours and I was finally able to drive her home.

A word to the wise, If you don't have GPS tracking on your Land Cruiser - get it now! The sick feeling you'll have when it's stolen is nothing compared to the cost of a little piece of mind.

Thank you all, again! BlueCruiser84 - thanks for offering your help to the local police. The officer that responded to my 911 call went over and above to help me out!

Glad to hear you got it back! Was it in decent condition when you found it?

Yea what was the deal?? Someone out for a Joyride?

If you ever want to get together and talk cruisers or spin some wrenches let me know!!

Guys, I can attest to the fact that older 60 and 80 LCs are in demand. I spoke with a friend of mine in law enforcement. He explained that there is a demand for nice ones in Mexico and the Central American countries. They are beloved by the criminal elements down there and there is also a collector interest. My FJ 60 and FJ 40 stay in the garage. All this to say be careful out there and watch your stuff.

BTW, I had a weird situation happen when mine was parked in the street in front of my house about nine months ago. We live in NoVA. It was about 4:30 in the morning and we happened to be awake. A person was looking at my FJ 60 in the street, not a problem... but then it turned to lifting the door handles fortunately we witnessed this from inside and ran outside. The person a, Hispanic male took off running with a screwdriver and backpack in his hand. By the time I was able to give chase he was well ahead of me. A call was made to the local police. They did come out and look for the individual but he could not be found.

The officer explained that car thieves of this type work in twos. One waits in another car not far way, usually around the block or three to four houses down the street. This person is the look out and get-away if needed. The other person breaks into the car. These are not smash and grab or joy-riders, they are chop-shop thieves and more professional. The bottom line is if something looks suspicious like a car parked with someone watching in your direction, while another just happens to be looking around don't hesitate to call the police or make your presence known. The give away is when they start looking in your car or walk into your driveway.

Demand and prices are definitely on the rise! We're still sifting through the evidence so I'll hold off on details. Absolutely no new damage to the truck. The circumstances are a little strange though. I had written it off. I had hope the first day but that faded by the second. I kept having horrible thoughts of my Land Cruiser being violated.

BlueCruiser84 - when life slows down a little for me I'll definitely take you up on the offer! My daughter is $aving for an 80 of her own. Between the two of us, there'll be plenty of spinning wrenches flying around!
