Hello

What shocks have you guys used for restorations?
Do any of you happen to know the part numbers from toyota for the factory / factory-esque shocks?

Looking to replace mine this weekend, because mine are pretty shot.
And suggestions?

I want to stay true to factory, but what are the factory shocks like in new condition?

Any tips or comments appreciated.

It is for a 1964 fj40

Cheers!

Hi All:

My understanding is that OE Toyota shocks for the 40 Series are still available through the North American dealership system.

I would suggest contacting "CruiserDan" here on MUD (he works at a US Toyota dealer) and see what he can pull up for your rig.

Good luck!

Alan

Thanks man you made my day

Try calling him - Cruiser Dan at American Toyota Phone is 1-800-432-6668 ext. 8. Or, just check with your local Toyota dealer and see if they can get them in.

Looks like the rear OEM shocks are discontinued...

Any suggestions for stock quality shock absorbers for a 1964 fj40 with no lift?
An all black set would be nice too ;)

Any ideas?

Cheers!

Maybe I'll do that....^...They have only been in operation since I bought the rig last August anyway....I've got to swap the rear and front springs (PO put the "big" ones on the back) so maybe I'll do it then.....

I have used high heat engine paint on some of my track motorcycle parts with great success. Paint it pretty rugged.
