Stock radio backlights (1 Viewer)

Hi There,

searched but couldn't find anything relevant to the stock radio. I have a 96fzj80 and since I bought the truck used the stock radio backlighting has not worked? First off, does the stock radio have backlighting? The specific areas that do not have backlighting are the small screen areas where the radio station #'s are shown, at night this is obviously a problem. Is there a bulb in there I can replace? any info on how to pull the radio and replace this would be appreciated.

They do have back lights IIRC they cannot be replaced. There are a couple threads here someplace talking more about it.

One of my is burned out as well.

yes, the radio buttons and screen are all back lit. youd probably be better off doing a scion HU swap than trying to get in there and replace the bulb.

They can be fixed I had mine fixed at a Cambodian radio shop so if they can fix it I'm sure some place in the USA is just as smart as a Cambodian radio shop and can fix it for you easy.

I don't know what they did but they had it all apart and he was soldiering on it. it did not take them more then 15 min.
