I'm moving along in the Vortec swap, got the chassis painted, but didn't remove the old bracket welded to the chassis yet. Do these stay and adapt to the new vortex with the new motor mounts? Or do i cut those off and start with the bare chassis.

What bracket specifically are you referring too? Have pictures?

Ate you sure you know what your doing.? Not being a dick or anything this is something that is well known.
No i don't know what I'm doing. In the sense that I've never done this swap. My thought was that the designers of the various conversion brackets, designed them to adapt to the existing bracket on the frame. I can figure it out I was just trying to save time by asking someone who's already done it.

You have to cut off the motor mounts. There are some v8 swap threads here if you search.

I don't think they would take them back, bought about a year ago. If it's just the hassle of installing i can deal with that. If it's inferior after install that I wouldn't like. The old brackets are off. I'm really impressed with the POR 15. I had to grind some when grinding the old welds, plus sparks hitting the new paint. Didn't phase it.

As we discussed over PM, buy my mounts, wire harness, shifter adapters, sensor adapters, TCC wiring, and a Gen 3/4l60 swap into a FJ62 will be almost as easy as it can possibly be. :meh:
