Stereo - R3B radio harness plug help (1 Viewer)

CORRECTION - HARNESS IS R2B, NOT R3B. Can't edit title


I am in the process of installing an aftermarket head unit in my '94. I purchased the Metra adapter to use the gray plugs. On the R2B plug I notice it has five wires. The wire in the # 5 position is white with a green stripe. On the Metra harness, there are only wires in the 1,3 and 2,6 positions. There is not a wire in the 5 spot.

On the 94 harness, the plug reads on the bottom from left to right 6, 5, 4, 3. On the '96 EWD I am looking at, it shows from left to right 3, 4, 5, 6. The EWD has a dot in the 5 spot and an X in the 4 spot. In the schematic, I don't see a white wire with green stripe.

Anybody know what this wire controls? Thanks!

Here's a picture, it's beside the black and yellow wires on the gray 5 wire plug. The other four are the rear speaker wires according to the EDW.

Go look at illumination page in the schematic section.
It is the dash lights.

Thanks to blkprj80 and Darkness. It is the illumination wire. There is an illumination wire in each of the gray plugs for some reason. Hooked it up according to the Metra instructions and all is well.
