Anyone using plain old step up bars? I know alot of people are using sliders but I don't plan on crawling mine but would like to put something on the fj62 that will add to the appearance and allow my wife a little help in getting in.

Why not just go custom and make them functional for both sliders and step bars? You might not go "krawlin'" in your cruiser, but your rockers with get damaged if you off-road it at all. Do a few searches on here. I know there was alot of info on this in the 80's section talking about expidition type rigs, etc.
