steering wheel removal (1 Viewer)

I am attempting to remove the steering wheel on my 73 40. I am not able to get the center pad off. What is the secret?

BTW, I did search.

There are 3 philips head screws on the back side of the wheel that hold the pad on. Pull these and you're home free.

This was seriously the last post in the list that I searched, glad I kept looking. got close to just ripping it off, that would have sucked

Those little suckers really deserve a JIS screw driver. The heads will strip just by looking at them wrong..
