Steering wheel audio controls on a 2000 LX ??? (1 Viewer)

I'd like to add audio controls on the wheel to my 2000 LX. Has anyone done this? I'd be open to swapping the entire wheel or if there's some audio control add-on to the current wheel I might be open to that too. I'm really just concerned with volume.

Would a wheel from a newer LX work if I run the wiring over to the head unit? I found one post with some info about piecing together some parts from AliExpress but I'd really rather just swap out the whole wheel even if it cost more.

Side note: Do not discount the value of an actual tactile volume knob when upgrading to a new head unit. Ugh. I wish I hadn't bought the one with the only controls on the touchscreen.

I looked into this a while ago and believe you need the wheel, a new clock spring, and associated wiring. Basically I learned what you found out, that it can be solved with a physical knob. That’s why I installed a Sony xav-ax100.
