I was trying to set up my hydro assist and only have 5" of throw with a 6" ram.

The axle was torn down completely and did a cut and turn. Axle shafts are installed.

I made new steering stops since I cut the old ones off. My steering stops are about 1/8" from hitting at full clock. It's the same amount of throw with the axle shafts in as when they were out.

I'm confused, bummed and frustrated. Thinking of naming the rig "Project Enigma".

Can anyone shed a little light on what's going on, where I went wrong and/or what to check?

Castor is 7 degrees IIRC. It makes my head hurt thinking about the geometry of everything, but could this be the source of my issues?

There are tons of variables that go into how much "throw" your tie rod has. We need more information than what you've provided thus far, such as whether or not you're SOA, what steering arms you're using, etc.

5" of throw sounds about right to me for a regular SOA setup. The amount of throw will change with the distance between the tie rod and the centerline of the housing.

What were you expecting to get?
