Short of rebuilding the steering box, is there a way to tighten up play at the steering wheel?. I just put in a new high-steer kit with all new tie rod ends, but I still have some slop at the steering wheel?

Did you replace the drag links? Regardless, they have an adjustment - FSM spec is too loose for my taste. I noticed a difference when I adjusted my drag-links to about 3/4 turn.

The steering box can be adjsusted a bit, there's a nut on the top. Be careful on this though, only make a small adjustment - 1/2 or 3/4 turn max.

There is always going to be some play at the wheel. FSM says 1.5 inches.

Thanks, the drag link and ends are new too. I guess I will have to live with it, it is not much more than 1.5" play. I was just hoping there was something I was over looking to help get a little tighter feel at the wheel.

I think that's within specs but can't recall the exact numbers, maybe someone with a FSM handy could check. I wish mine was a bit tighter but a bit of slop may be the way it's supposed to be.

I have fought the same thing. Its never going to be a race car but you get used to it.
