Planning to have Redhead rebuild a ‘91 steering gearbox with a 105 sector and pitman arm. From what I can gather, the ‘91 through ‘97 steering boxes are the same. Is there any reason I can’t or shouldn’t use the ‘91 box on an LX450?

How much do they want for it built with a 105 sector and pitman?

$1095 for rebuilt core with 105 sector and pitman. They are unable to source the core anymore, so you have to send one to them.

Other than possibly wear due to mileage, the boxes are the same. The input section will be the only thing left to have wear, and I've not seen any sign of wear on any of the ones I've looked at. I rebuilt a '91 box for my '94, and have rebuilt later boxes, and saw no differences.

I have had 5 different boxes and they're interchangeable but some seem sloppier than others, presumably due to ball screw wear. No way to predict that though

Thank you for the replies. I’ll buy the ‘91 box and hope for the best.
