Stedi LED Lighting. Type-X Pro compared to Type-X Sport (1 Viewer)

8.5" Type-X Sport - I didn't want to spend he extra for the Pro when I don't really need that much aux lighting to begin with. I way overdid auxiliary lighting on my last build, so I'm trying to dial it back a bit this time.
Did you splice into the high beams to come on with them or running solely by switch? Or did you buy their 16 LC piggyback adapter?

For those that have installed the Pros or Sports - how is the light throw out to the sides? I realize these are spot lights but in the video/image from Stedi's site, the Pros seems to show a decent amount of light out to the side. I have a pair of 10" Rigid driving/spot combo lights installed on the aluminum crash bar behind my stock bumper and they're great, but as I drift toward getting an aftermarket bumper, I'm window shopping for what's next...

I bought the Stedi piggyback harness, but it just arrived today and I haven't had time to look at it.

I want to run them through my switchpros for a bunch of reasons including dimming and manual override, so I'm not entirely sure how the wiring will go. Maybe the Stedi harness gives me a switch-pros trigger wire and I wire the Stedi light harness into a switchpro button, programmed to come on when that trigger gets power? I haven't thought it all through yet.

I'll report back either tonight or tomorrow. :) If all goes to plan and I don't run out of steam, I plan to install my bullbar, Stedis, etc. tonight after work and hope to be finished before I go to bed for the night.

My Type-X Pros will be here Wednesday. Going to have a local fab shop come up with some 'through the grill' mounts that work with a hidden winch (no crash bar to mount to) unless @TRAIL TAILOR wants to make some up! I also bought a variety of covers. For now I will have them come on with the High Beams, which I rarely use on road, but will probably also wire in a cutoff.

I also picked up their license plate lights which are the first direct swap whole housing option I've seen.

License plate lights I didn't see those on their site a while back.

I'm hoping my wife got me a set of them for Xmas, I sent her a link last month.

Super interested to see what your shop comes up with for a mount!

Stopped by Westcott Designs today and spoke with the owner about coming up with something that would work on all years of the 200 series with or without a hidden winch mount. They are focused on designs they can put into production and since nobody has come up with a product for this, he was going to see what they can come up with.

They are working on some cool stuff for the 200 and seem pretty sold on the 200 series market being viable.

One of the folks in the shop was hitting trails around Ouray at the same time as LCDC was going on. I got the impression seeing all those built 200s out on the trails may have helped our cause.

I think Westcott was the one who did those custom bumper/slider bars on @FlightMedic178 old white 200. Looked like good work from what I saw.

Side note, thanks for the tip on the STEDI license plate lights, I ordered mine this morning ; )

I just received my X-Sport set. I'm going to mount them on my 80. If I like them I'll probably get a set for the 200.

I need to check if it's free shipping for those, as my wife got me the driving lights for Xmas and I didn't know they had license plate ones of not I would have added to my Xmas wish list.

Yeah looks like I didn’t notice shipping was almost the same price as the lights. Oh well. I feel like Stedi in general is so reasonable as far as pricing goes I can accept the shipping cost. I think the conversion to USD land it around $40 all in with shipping.

I got the pro driving lights, haven't installed yet, but they look, feel and weigh like if they are quality. The box they come in has some weight to it.

If someone out there decides they don't like their Stedi lights for some strange reason, PM me and I'll swap you my PIAA LP570 driving lights. They're SAE/DOT compliant, and their beam is reasonably tight, but I've never been impressed with their overall output despite all the great ratings they get online

People in this thread would love to hear that..

And, PLEASE try to convince them to bring it through the grille slats, not under the grille pressing on the bumper skin.

Wow, glad I saw this. Wasn't familiar with Stedi, seemed to be priced very well for the quality. How long is it taking y'all to receive them once the order is placed to the US?

Took 8 days order to delivery for me.
