It's not steam, but I have cranked up my hot water heater and then used a hose connected to hot water from the house to my pressure washer with good results.

Thats a good idea. I checked with hotsy (thanks Ian) and it's $185 for a day to rent a 4GPM at 3500PSI gas unit...little more pricey than I expected. Anyone else need to use a steam cleaner??

I did a frame this way. It is probably not as good as steam if you are doing really greasy engine or drivetrain parts.
