Well I picked up a 1985 fj60 a couple months ago. Just getting around to cutting into it. A lot of rust to repair. Mainly on the roof and a pillars. Windshield was removed today. Already have a donor roof located. I plan on drilling the spot welds out and removing the whole roof panel on the donor. Transfer roof gutters and roof panel to my 60.Well that’s the plan. I’m not a body man but not afraid to give it a try. Haha. I will post pics of the progress.

Not a easy job! Good for you for given the old cruiser a second chance!

I didn’t want to cut the whole roof off of ours.

I cut with a dremel, sectioned out small pieces and had fitted them with the dremel.

It’s kinda tedious but it’s working. Body filler is less than .25” at the deepest spot, and its going to be mostly a hidden repair.

I had 11 spots around the truck.

Wow, did the top roof panel come off once you removed the drip rail sealer? Or did you have to drill out some spot welds? Did you remove the outside of the A pillars for repair too?
