hello, I own here in Senegal a BJ75 of 1985, all circuit in 24V. The original starter have burnt and impossible here to get a 24V spare starter. I finally got a 12V starter whch is plugged on the right battery while the rest remains on the 2 batteries. This system works but I have to invert the 2 batts right to left and left to right every week. I think the batt won't last too long... Is ther a way to equilibrate charge between both the 2 batteries ?

Hi Theirno,

The only way I know to keep the batteries charged correctly/ equally in your situation is to use a charge equaliser.

See Charge Equalisers 24 Volt DC to 12 Volt DC by REDARC

There is plenty of tech info on charge equalisers on the site.

Can you import a 24v starter from somewhere overseas? I am from Australia and everything is 12v over here so I'm not looking forward to the day my electrics start playing up.

Cheers and hope that helps.

Gav.

Thank you

Thanx for your reply, I have looked on the site you indicated to me . It seems to be efficient, I will try to import one from abroad. My brother owns a BJ60 (same 3B engine) all in 12V, much more easier to get spare parts !!
