Try with the EDIC rod disconnected. If absolutely nothing happens you starter is broken. If you have +24V and ground to the starter direct from the batteries and nothing happens when you give +24V to the remote lead on starter then you have a broken starter. Also the jumper cables has to be decent ones. Cheapest thin cables will melt. Don't ask how I know :)

Do you know exactly where the ground from the batteries to the starter is supposed to be ? I only see thes

Cool ! Do you know exactly where is the ground connection on the starter ? I only can see 2 possible connection location on the starter , it the smallest wire supposed to be the ground ? If so.. it's coming from the positive side of my high battery Wich makes me think it's not actually grounded

Thanks

Nut in the picture is +24V. That thin wire is the remote (+24V) lead from ignition. Starter itself has no ground. It is grounded through a wire from lower mounting bolt to the frame and through the engine. When tried to start my engine after freshening up I only grounded from engine mount.

So disconnect the EDIC rod. Connect your jumper cable + to that nut on starter and - to engine mount. Then take a thinner wire from that nut on starter and connect it to that thin wire from starter. Do not connect the small wire permanently. Starter spins as long ast the wire is connected. No need for glowing. Then it should start.

Thanks ! I will be rewiring every grounds tomorrow as they are missing and will try to start it

Really nice but don't trial and error to much as you might burn something like fusible link and create a lot of other problems.
As it is Canadian it might have 12v headlights, need to know if it is super glow or other system, pictures of the edic controller and other boxes type numbers might show what you have.
Also the current glow plugs type numbers might indicate what you have (6v/14v, other)
Just some reading might give you more result than random trying to add power, it will take some time to get every cable to do what it needs to.
Good luck, I have had some problems with the starter relay, undoing every plug end cleaning helped but a few are essential for the edic to work.

Also the many draining battery issue might cause problems so maybe for now disconnect battery when not working on truck.

My HJ did not glow and it was this plug next to the glowrail (busbar) that needed some wd40 spray AND push the small cable inwards! if you turn on the contact and wiggle this plug I hope it suddenly starts klicking and glowing!

Also the wire to the water / coolant temperature sensor on top of the thermostat housing is very important!

some fuses might be non original, removed all as they sometimes seem oke but are bad:

Wow thanks for the complete reply.

I have inspected pretty much every wire , connection and fusible link in the engine bay and beside a bit of corosion on 2 or 3 connectors everything seems fine except for all the missing ground wires that I will install today.Hopefully it will start.
