I just picked up my second 80 last week, I sold my 91 nearly 5 years ago with the basics, OME 2.5 ARB bumper, and I have missed it ever since. Anyhow I just got a 96 and the steering wheel squeaks. It only seems to happen for the first couple minutes Im driving it. I would appreciate any help either on what it is or how to fix it. thanks

SEARCH....

even if it is still down...there is at least one other thread concerning this on the first page.

I actually had tried the search but I guess I was putting in the wrong words to figure it out. Fortunately someone helpfull told me what to search for.

Search "Steering Wheel"

Cold mornings will do it, I noticed the same the last two winters. I took an old towel and covered the steering wheel the night before and that seem to help.

Yours is a very 1:banana: fix, if you would like to solve the problem once and for all.

The 95 - up with airbags is not so much.
