Does anyone know if the springs from a `78 fj-40 will fit into an `82 bj-42 (that's just like an fj-40 only w/ a diesel, in case you didn't know ) Thanks,

I wouldn't see why the springs wouldn't fit, check your specter offroad catalog, I think all the springs on the fj40's were the same.

the diameter of the spring eyes on the 80+ springs are different than the 79+ springs....make sure you double check that, not positive on the BJ series stuff...

also, isn't a 42 a longer wheelbase? Might wanna check rear spring length/pin offset. I know 45's have monster rear packs...

No, a BJ40 has a 1B and a BJ42 has a 3B is only difference.
