I have an axle here that I'd like to use for my FJ45LV the problem is that axles here are expensive if they are available at all. I found one but the holes for the spring centering pins in the spring perch on the axle are wallowed out. I need to repair that but I'd like to know where EXACTLY on the spring perch the hole needs to be and what size it is as well.

center, I assume. Or put it where you want to position the axle, possibly center in the opening??? The possibilities are endless.

center, I assume.

As do I. The issue is that if it is not centered but rather further outboard or inboard then I'd be stressing the springs or mounts to an abnormal position on suspension flex.

I have 3 axle housings here. On all three housings the hole is centered side to side and front to back. The 60 series rear housing is about 1" dia. The 62 series front housing is a heavy 9/16ths, close to 5/8ths. The mini truck front housing is 5/8ths and you can see marks where the hex shape of the bolt/nut set in the hole. The holes are most likely metric but I don't have metric stuff to measure with. I know this is not very specific but if you went with 5/8ths diameter I would think it would fit real close. I don't know why the one housing has such a large center hole in the perch.

Hope this more help than confusion.

Don

You're working on a Land Cruiser, not the Space Shuttle.:)
