Thought we could start a thread discussing the possiblilty of a midwest Spring '09 Washita outting. A few initial thoughts:

Location: Washita - Because the TAC event is usually at Flat Nasty
When: Sometime this Spring, we'll want to consider potential conflicts with other events.
Who: Target all MO/IL bordering states/clubs
Duration: Thurs or Fri through Sunday

Additional items to consider:

1. Should we join TLCA so we can advertise the outing in Toy Trails?
2. Do we need to consider situations that would require us to purchase liability insurance? (Miescha, what say you?)
3. Should we hold a raffle?
4. Should we offer a cookout?
5. Should we keep it simple/informal and stay away from all the activities that require us to raise revenue, make the club "official", etc. ?

If the goal is getting a large group to attend then one item that I feel necessary would be offering guided trail runs by vehicle capability. For instance, Toyminator could lead an "extreme" run. Joe could do a "difficult" run. And Miescha could lead a "ultra-extreme balls to the wall" run. :hillbilly:

Whattya guys think? Too much for our loose-knit group of knuckleheads?

I believe either Toyminator or Miescha has the done some investigation on "formalizing" us with TLCA>

I think Miescha should stick to the "Watch This" runs. Steve can do the stump jumper/tight trails runs. As far as me sticking with the difficult runs, I'd rather stay on the "green" Washita trails, need to find them first though.

I'll do whatever, as long as I get the job with the least amount of responsibility.

If you want to join TLCA and place Ads for a spring outing you'd better do it quick. You may want to talk to the owners of the park too.

You may also want to hold off until the anouncement of a new Midwest National event is released. It is currently in the works and close to being finished. They are trying to get all the midwest clubs involved. TCC, TAC,GCC,and a few others. It would suck for you to work that hard and find out its just before or after your event. I also thinks that if you want to do an informal get together you can pull it off in a few months, but if your interested in finalizing a chapter formation and putting on a sanctioned event you will need a considerable amount of time to put in together correctly and half it go smooth. You will also need to give folks time to plan for it. I would guess that a six to eight month window at a minimum.

If someone from you club is interested, there is a conf call next Monday or Tuesday that one of you could get in on with reps from TLCA, TCC, GCC,TAC, and Cottonland Cruisers. Let me know and I will pass your info on to Art.

Would the Midwest National Event be at F.N.?

Still finalizing but its will be at more than one location.

How does that work. I think I've read posts about this type of event before. Does it take all week? or do you just spend a little over a day at each location.

Do the locations need to be in reasonable proximity to each other? or do you jump from state to state?

They hope to post something soon. From what I understand they want it to be a week long, alacart event. You can go for one day and pay that fee at one end or do the whole week at 2 different locations with shirt and all the fixins for a different. TTORA and FJC along with TLCA. Once they finish all the details and lock in the dates they will post up all the info.

I am very interested in having a long weekend, 3 day, event.

You provide the wall, I'll bring my balls (I think my wife has them in her purse).

I thought we were a loose-knit splinter cell from the TAC group. I like splinter cell better - it sounds like we could be dangerous.

Hell, with Steve's driving we ARE dangerous :D
