More info:

We need showers like every other day at least. So doubt we will do all camping on the beach.

More to follow.

Keep in mind that camping directly on the beach is prohibited. You have to be "fishing" overnight. But Ocracoke has nice facilities, not many rules, just don't drive on the grass, park off your pad, set too many tents up, hang stuff on the trees... Man, that story doesn't get old!

I'm gonna be up in Corolla from the 8th-15th. Got a house up on the sand. If you wanna stop in and grab some grub and a shower you're more than welcome. Or even just meet up for dinner.

Eric - cool stuff. Would be awesome to at least meet for dinner.

I will try to get my stuff together and see how we can make this work.

The NPS campgrounds on OBX are quite nice, Frances Frank notwithstanding. There's one on Ocracoke, at Ramp 49 in Frisco, and at Oregon Inlet (although this one is right along Hwy 12).

Good ole' Frances Frank. I don't want to be an a******, but... I'm an a******.

Thanks for the info!

Anyone know if you can ferry out to Cape Lookout from Harker's Island and then drive up the beach to the Great Island Cabin Camp, spend the night, and then ferry back to Davis?

Ferry costs will KILL us even if we can do that - -trying to do too much :) That idea is out.

Tyrone's palace is neat! ;) So is the Maritime Museum in Beaufort. I live in Morehead, if you need anything while you are down this way hit me up. Not much for camping down this way, there is a camp ground at Flanners Beach, it's between New Bern and Havelock.

Thanks! We locked down Oregon Inlet last night for Friday night. Will take a look around New Bern. We may stay up North this time, too and save the New Bern / Cape Lookout area for another trip.

Updated first post with stuff.

Thanks to Eric and Stacy for taking us in on Friday PM!!

I have updated the first post with the final agenda. Pics to follow :)

Gardens at Tryon Palace. Love the kitchen there. They prepare food at 11:30 each day - very cool open fireplace iron cooking.
