Does anybody know the dimensions of the needle bearing inside the shaft on the split case transfer case (1987-1990). I'd like to make or buy a puller for it before I start the job of rebuilding my TC.

created the holy grail thread on rebuilding the transfer case.
His post below on that thread might be the answer you're looking for.

 
If you don't have a puller you can also use a small flat head screw driver to remove the needles then a die grinder/ Dremel tool to grind a slit NEARLY through the outer shell, then the flat head to collapse the outer case and remove. If you don't have steady hands may not want to try this method.

Perfect, Thanks, exactly what I needed, there is a puller locally for $30 that should do the trick.
