When searching for a part on milk crate box, a bib hinge fell hitting the floor. As I was watching while holding the crate, thought it broke !, but then looked closely, realize is a two piece hinge !
Never seen one, and wanted to know if this is OEM and what year 40 came with it.
Looks pretty cool and don't seem to be aftermarket because of its cast !

For some reason the site is not letting me upload pictures ???

Its OEM, the early trucks had them. Pre 74 I would guess.

Hinge

My 9/69 40 has one. Rotate it about 45 degrees forward and it lifts right off. Pretty slick!

Thank you guys !
I wonder why they change the model, when that is a great concept to have specially when working under the hood ?

Finally got the picture uploaded !

Two piece Bib Hinge 63-78, but now that I took mine completely off the vehicle and apart can't remember which way the bottom part goes on the vehicle... offset to the front or rear....Help?
I think I got it figured out...Offset to the front more angled side facing rear, anybody confirm that?

You have it right. Had one on my first FJ40. It had a fiberglass front end and I used it to tilt the front end, and after disconnecting the light wires, two guys could have the front end off in under a minute
